About Ditto Dies
We cut custom dies for clay extruders, one at a time, from the shape you draw.
Why we make them
An extruder comes with a handful of stock dies: circles, squares, a star. Sooner or later most potters want a shape that isn't in the box, and getting one cut used to mean finding a machinist and explaining a sketch. Ditto Dies puts the drawing in your hands and leaves the cutting to us.
How a die is made
You draw the profile in the designer, or import an SVG. The designer checks the walls and gaps against what HDPE can hold and shows you the die in 3D, so you see what you're buying.
When you order, the drawing is frozen exactly as you approved it. We CNC-cut it from HDPE: 3/4" for the 6" Big Blue and 1/2" for the 4" Standard, with a bevel around the opening so the clay flows. It's cut in 5 business days and posted to you, ready to mount.
What fits
Today our blanks fit North Star's 6" Big Blue and 4" Standard extruders. Ditto Dies isn't connected to North Star Equipment: we cut our dies to fit their machines. If you use a different extruder, tell us which one. It helps us choose the next fit.
Your designs
You keep every right to the shapes you draw. We use your drawing to cut your die, and keep it with your order so you can have the same die cut again.
